One barrel only, with 80% whole bunches. Another engaging purple colour, and while the stems are present so too is the darker raspberry fruit. There is plenty on the palate of both aspects, to make a successful Caillerets. Drink from 2030-2035.

The 2024 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru, which contains two-thirds whole bunch, has a delineated and quite floral bouquet, plenty of red cherry and wild strawberry fruit, touches of bell pepper (from the stems) and even a dab of marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, lightly spiced with just a touch of pepperiness on the finish. I am intrigued to see how this will develop in bottle.
