Domaine Yvon Clerget
Volnay, Cote-de-Beaune, Bourgogne, France
“… The Clerget style is one that combines substance with elegance and excellent terroir transparency.” Allen Meadows, Burghound.
This is an old domaine that has had a very low profile since 2009 when Yvon Clerget retired and waited for his son Thibaud to finish his wine studies, and an internship at Domaine Hudelot-Noellat. In the meantime, the harvests were being sold off (with some going to Henri Boillot).Thibaud's first full vintage back at Y. Clerget was 2015...so these wines are new to the market but have made quite an impression already. They havevery good holdings including a monopole
- Clos du Verseuil acquired in 1936 - which is next to Taillepieds. The family have been in Volnay since the 13th century and Thibaud is the 28th generation of his family to make wine in Volnay.
