This small domaine is a quiet achiever without the fanfare associated with the big names of Burgundy. Located in Les Estournelles,Gevrey-Chambertin,theirtotalvineyardholdingsamounttojustfourhectares. Atleast11crusarevinified soproductionofsomeareverysmall.Thevinesareveryold,anditissaidthatsomeofthegreatLeroywinesofthe1950s were made from grapes grown at thisdomaine.
FredericEsmoninisasonofAndrewhopriorto1987soldallthedomaine'swinestothelikesofJadotandLeroy.Andre was a highly respected grower who was also known for cultivating vines in Mazis-Chambertin for the Hospices de Beaune.
The wines have been domaine bottled only since 1991. In recent times they have been highly praised for both their consistency and quality. The wines are generally found to be aromatic and elegant with silky power and an underlying structureforlengthyageing.
