Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet sits on the northern border of Gevrey-Chambertin in Fixin, where historically the family of Denis Berthaud (Amélie's father) made some of the best wines. Marie-Andrée Gerbet (Amélie’s mother) brought over premium vineyards from Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny - creating the new family domaine. 

Head winemaker Amélie Berthaut-Gerbet studied oenology in Bordeaux and worked at Domaine Trapet, Burgundy & in New Zealand. Amélie’s husband, Nicolas Faure, focusses on the viticulture after working at J L Chave, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Prieuré Roch. They have recently invested in a new cuverie, bringing up the berries in both concrete tanks and in barrel. Amelie uses both destemmed and whole bunch wine-making, working with what the vintage presents to create well-balanced, elegant wines.

The domaine recently received a highly-sought after Michelin Grape "Selected Domaine" award, as a trusted, consistent producer for outstanding quality of wines.
