Fine mid purple. A very lively nose, integrating the style of upper Rugiens with 50% whole bunches. Floral, vigorous, peppery from the stems, with a fine and elegant red fruit including alpine strawberry. The stems will need to calm a little at the finish, but I think this will happen. It is certainly very persistent. Drink from 2030-2036.

The 2024 Pommard Les Rugiens-Hauts 1er Cru contains 50% whole bunch this year. This is endowed with darker fruit than the Village, hints of undergrowth and tobacco in the background, well defined if not powerful. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, well balanced, quite transparent in style with just a veil of wood to be subsumed on the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle.
