2024, Maison Benjamin Leroux, GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN, Village

All the village plots assembled, with Champeaux and Charmes-Chambertin thrown in. Fresh ruby purple. A little whole bunch is not evident on the nose which has a light chocolate overlay to the strawberry and raspberry fruit. Builds well across the palate to a structured finish. Drink from 2029-2034.

The 2024 Gevrey-Chambertin Village includes fruit from Charmes-Chambertin and Champeaux this year. It has a cohesive nose, undergrowth and brown spices infusing the light red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a little peppery as if you would think there were some stems in the mix (there are none) leading to a "cool" finish. Drink over the next decade.
