2024, Maison Benjamin Leroux, GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN, 1er Cru, 'Les Cazetiers'

One third whole bunch, with enough fruit to make one 456-litre barrel. The nose is discreet but refined. Lifted raspberries, only very slightly peppery, it is the fruit which leads the way. A stylish, lighter bodied Cazetiers. Drink from 2030-2035.

The 2024 Gevrey-Chambertin Cazetiers 1er Cru has a slightly smudged nose at first: white pepper and mulberry fruit, just a touch of reduction. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. Well-balanced with a judicious touch of spice, this feels quite linear on the finish but it is quite persistent.
