2024, Domaine William Fèvre, CHABLIS, 1er Cru, 'Montmains'

Domaine wine composed of 40% Butteaux plus 30% each of Forêts and Montmains proper.

The nose instantly makes clear that this could come from nowhere else but Chablis with its cool and airy aromas of white flower, ocean breeze, algae and shellfish. The sleek and refined yet solidly powerful flavours possess a beguiling texture and excellent precision while displaying impressive length and an almost aggressive minerality on the clean, dry and balanced finale. This is lovely but note well that at least moderate patience will be required.

Their plots mostly escaped the hail. 15 hl/ha. Glowing lemon and lime. Lightly stony on the nose, then builds in volume across the palate, with a marine note and a little beneficial bitterness at the finish to confirm the terroir. Once again, a fine long finish. Drink from 2028-2032.
