2024, Domaine William Fèvre, CHABLIS, 1er Cru, 'Montée de Tonnerre'

From a 2.24 ha holding that is divided between Pied d’Aloup, Côte de Bréchain and Chapelot

This is also wonderfully elegant and expressive with its ripe yet cool nose of seemingly every flower imaginable as there is even a hint of gardenia, along with a plenitude of classic Chablis elements. The rich, suave and caressing medium- bodied flavours possess good verve and evident minerality on the youthfully austere and sneaky long finish. This is really very classy though it will definitely need to add depth to merit the upper end of my projected range.

Under 10 hl/ha here. A little more lemon in the colour, and more perfumed in bouquet. The 2024 Montée de Tonnerre has all the fruit you could want, even a little honeysuckle, with good natural acidity, a long and charming finish, with good grip. Fine persistence, a lovely example. Drink from 2028-2033.
