2024, Domaine Tollot-Beaut, ALOXE-CORTON, 1er Cru, 'Les Fournières', Magnum (1500ml)

The 2024 Aloxe-Corton Les Fournières 1er Cru has a little more delineation and mineralité on the nose compared to the Vercots at the moment. The wood seems more simpatico. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, a little fleshier and more corpulent towards the finish that is delineated and tender. This is an excellent Aloxe-Corton in the making. 91-93 Neal Martin, Vinous (2026).

Middling red to crimson. Not quite the same nobility on the nose as the Vercots this year. Fournières offers a sturdy style of fruit which has resisted the oak well, with fair length. *** 89-91 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (2025).

A nose that opens out, a little shy starting, airy red fruit, but with an implied cushion too. The wider structure is more discrete than that of the Vercots. Extra depth and complexity to the finish. That’s a great finish too !! Bill Nanson.
