A large vineyard area of grand cru of which Echezeaux du Dessus is the favoured spot - where the majority of Mongeard-Mugneret vines are situated. The oldest vines have now been separated into the cuvée Grande Complication - but the age and quality is still very high here.
Silky, almost glossy aromas. Larger in the mouth, less cushioned, here framed with a micro grain of subtly drying tannin, then a burst of intense fruit and very mineral flavour. The scale of this gives a very fine impression. The finish, like that of the Orveaux holds really impressive. For keeping longer. I’d honestly wait 7-8 years, and even better to drink at 12-15 years. The flavour is still going – it’s going to be super.
