2024, Domaine Marquis d'Angerville, VOLNAY, Village
$128.80 inc. GST
Lively cherry to ruby red. There is lovely fruit on the palate, cherries to the fore, with higher than usual acidity and very fine-grained tannins. The blend includes some fruit from 1ers Crus Pitures and Mitans. Drink from 2029-2033.

The 2024 Volnay Village includes some fruit eked from the Premier Crus this year. It has quite a precocious nose with Morello cherries and crushed strawberry, just a touch of cassis coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet candied opening. Quite fleshy and harmonious. As such, this will be a Volnay that should be broached in its flush of youth.

Pretty purple-berry fruit and sweet stony minerals. More defined tannins than the Bourgogne, with bittersweet cherry, dried flowers and classical, understated Volnay charm. Elegant and authentic. Mostly from two plots within Volnay, Les Pluchots and Les Grands Champs, abutting the Premiers Crus vineyards.
