Oddly enough more of a red crimson colour, lighter than most of the Moreys. 90% whole bunches. A little oak and some lighter fresh red berries on the nose, showing the elegance of this Vosne side vineyard. I am struck this year by how different is the Murgers in style compared to the other Lignier-Michelot wines. It is not massively concentrated but very graceful, almost ethereal, and entirely in little red fruits, including my favourite alpine strawberries. All about the length! Drink from 2032-2038.
**** 94-96 Jasper Morris MW
Cool and airy aromas of plum, black cherry, earth and floral nuances complement rich, dense and powerful yet surprisingly refined medium-bodied flavours that deliver fine length if not quite the same complexity, at least not yet. Murgers is not known for its refinement yet this is arguably the exception the confirms the rule.
91-93 Burghound. Outstanding
