Better flowering produced plenty of grapes, just not enough juice in them. 28 hl/ha. 70% whole bunch vinification, no punch down like for most wines in 2024. Crimson ruby, a touch of pepper on the nose, delivering a lovely dark raspberry fruit, even a touch of plum, and filling the back of the palate. Drink from 2029-2036.

Here too the nose is overtly floral in character with its cooler and airier combination of the essence of red pinot fruit and wet stone nuances. There is excellent underlying tension to the detailed flavors that flash an almost aggressive minerality on the ever-so-mildly tangy and youthfully austere finale. This needs a few years to unwind and soften, particularly on the finish.

The 2024 Morey-Saint-Denis en la Rue de Vergy was cropped at around 28hl/ha. Raised in 80% whole bunch, this has an open-knit bouquet with redcurrant and raspberry fruit, a touch of rose hip coming through with time. The palate is quite sweet on the entry, impressive ripeness for the vintage with a Chambolle-like curvaceous finish. Seductive.
