Just one barrel instead of five, having lost most at the flowering. 100% whole bunch. Mid ruby, very perfumed, some fresh white pepper as well. A very elegant style of Charmes though still with the soft grace of the appellation. Fine persistent, precise and frankly delicious. Drink from 2031-2038.

Pretty aromas of the essence of red cherry, rose petal, violet, earth and slightly more prominent wood. The exceptionally rich, round and succulent flavours are generously proportioned while delivering solid depth and persistent on the mildly rustic, firm and balanced finale.

The 2024 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru contains 100% whole cluster and is just one-quarter of a normal crop - one barrel. This is quite fragrant on the nose with wilted rose petals infusing the red berry fruit, hints of cracked black pepper coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, judiciously spiced, very cohesive with the gentle simmering spiciness towards the finish. Superb.
