Mid purple. The nose shows quite a strong reduction, which does not stop the palate delivering a powerful, almost rugged weight of fruit, with fair length and not too much tightened up at the back. When this reduction disappears, a fourth star is in the running. Drink from 2032-2038.

Firm reduction completely masks the fruit today. More interesting are the supple and delicious if decidedly punchy flavours that possess a bit more size and weight while delivering solid depth and length on the balanced and only slightly austere finale. While this is certainly built to repay a decade plus of keeping, it could likely be approached after only 6 to 8 years.
