The 2024 Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru has a fragrant, floral bouquet with ebullient red fruit, baked cherries and hints of bergamot coming through with aeration. I appreciate the delineation here. The palate is medium-bodied, smoother with greater depth than the Village Cru, lightly spiced with a bright and lively finish. Very attractive.
90-92 Neal Martin, Vinous.

Deep ruby to purple. A more classic elegant fruit on the nose. Good acidity here retains the freshness behind quite a good concentration of fruit. Brisk red fruit with some passion fruit alongside the red berries.

This is also agreeably fresh and bright with its borderline perfumed array of cool plum, dark currant and similar just turned earth nuances. There is acceptable volume and density to the more mineral-driven flavours that conclude in a more structured and moderately austere finale. At least some patience will be necessary.
88-91 Allen Meadows, Burghound.
