Peter Maude Fine Wines
2024, Domaine de Villaine, BOUZERON, Aligoté, BIO, Magnum (1500ml)
$101.20 inc. GST
The Bouzeron comes from old Aligoté vines situated on the best slopes of the appellation. 17 different parcels of Aligoté Doré of an average of 65 years old.
"This wine vibrates with a mineral energy and a thirst-quench fierce desire to drink it, which is always a good sign!" Pierre de Benoist.
A classic aligoté nose features ultra-fresh, cool and spicy aromas of green apple and lemon rind. There is excellent density to the rich, delicious and markedly intense middle weight flavors that exude evident minerality on the clean and dry finale that is supported by bright citrus-tinged acidity. A quality effort.
87-89 Allen Meadows, Burghound.
The 2024 Bouzeron has a pretty bouquet with touches of rose water, tincture and peachy fruit. Très Bouzeron. The palate is fresh and vibrant. Lovely weight and a little spicier than the previous vintage, with a healthy dash of ginger, but it is the texture that disarms the senses here. Enjoy over two or three years.
