The 2024 Domaine de Cambes, 100% Merlot, is soft and caressing on the palate. Spice, new leather, dried rose petal, leather and cedar weave through a core of red-toned fruit. This forward, supple Côtes de Bourg from the Mitjaville family is impeccable. 90-92 Antonio Galloni, Vinous (2025).
The 2024 Domaine des Cambes has a relatively more exotic bouquet that you might misconstrue as deriving from a more clement season. Upfront black cherry, cassis and light vanillary scents burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a creamy opening that belies the structure behind this Côtes de Bordeaux. Gentle grip on the finish, very pure and sustained, it is going to be completely delicious and irresistible from bottling. This is a hidden gem of the vintage. 91-93 Neal Martin, Vinous (2025).
