50 year old vines. Noticeably more clay in the soil of Santenots than for most of Volnay, giving wines of full body and rich texture.
Mid crimson in colour, the reduction is holding back the nose which shows a plumper style of red fruit otherwise. The reduction also toughens the finish. This will be sorted out in due course.
