Tiny, 50 year old 1er Cru vineyard situated immediately to the south of Montrachet, known to locals as “Pieds du Montrachet.”
Glowing lemon colour. The Blanchot does not have quite the same intensity as the top Meursaults but a beautifully balanced and elegant wine, which then really builds in intensity on the palate to show its Montrachet proximity. At the start I prefer the Meursaults but what is left in the mouth here may even transcend them.
