2024, Domaine A. -F. Gros, POMMARD, 1er Cru, 'Les Pezerolles', Monopole

Only made in wood. Mid crimson. Mildly reductive, otherwise mixed red berries. The fruit and the stems are quite well harnessed. An agreeable sweetness to the fruit, this is a success in 2024 though the terroir will need to assert itself as the wine ages. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Oct 2025. 90-92 Jasper Morris

A slightly more deeply pitched nose somewhat grudgingly reveals its array of plum, dark pinot fruit and touches of spice and floral top notes. The succulent, vibrant and overtly mineral-driven flavors possess the classic refinement of a fine Pézerolles on the solidly persistent finale. Lovely.
