This famous Pomerol Chateau is on the plateau and planted with 100% Merlot. Originally owned, along with Petrus, by Mme Loubat, it has been farmed and managed since 1962 by JP Moueix, who recently purchased it. The vineyard is comprised of 8 hectares. The 2024 is (as usual) 100% Merlot.

Offering up aromas of dark berries, cherries, petals and violets, the 2024 Latour à Pomerol is medium to full-bodied, velvety and suave, with a layered, fleshy core of fruit, supple tannins and a pure, moderately persistent finish.

Bright ruby colour. Sage and rosemary lead the aromas with summer pudding fruit and a touch of vanilla. The palate is pithy with a light grip from the tannins against ethereal red fruit. A gentle framing builds with wood spice and a little wood tannin to become increasingly grippy by the back end. Smoky, with juicy red fruits on the finish
