Last year EP $252.00-
Bordeaux Blend: Merlot, Petit Verdot.
This famous Pomerol property has been owned by the Moueix family since 1950 and produces a wine that is always a classic of the appellation and keenly sought-after. The 2024 blend is 99.5% Merlot and 0.5% Petit Verdot. Double-sorting (manual and optical). Maturation in 50% new oak.
Gently toasted cedar and sandalwood, violet, lilac, powdery rose, plush fruits, savoury in the spirit of the vintage but with texture and even generosity, and velvety tannins. A great job from La Fleur-Petrus, seriously impressive and one to look out for - my wine of the Moueix stable in 2024. 50% new oak. Around 20% down on yield from a usual year.

Aromas of creamy dark berries, fruitcake and chocolate introduce the 2024 La Fleur-Pétrus, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and supple wine that's rich and creamy, with good depth at the core and soft structuring tannins.

Mid ruby colour. The nose is very floral and high toned, with notes of iris and sage, together with bright cherry fruit. Spicy, bright and chalky on the palate, this is a vertical and quite sinewy style. The wood spice adds perfect seasoning, with gently handled fruit just starting to flesh out on the back end.
