2023, Domaine Pierre Guillemot, SAVIGNY-LÈS-BEAUNE, 'Le Dessus de Gollardes', Blanc

Interesting wine planted from cuttings from Henri Gouge's Pinot Blanc, growing alongside Chardonnay just north of the village. Brilliant for blind-tastings as well as excellent drinking.
Offering up aromas of pear, green apple and freshly baked bread, the 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune Dessus Les Gollardes Blanc is medium-bodied, satiny and open-knit, with an easygoing, charming personality.

This is a thoroughly individual wine. It has a clear mid lemon colour and a little bit of the apple flavour I associate with pinot blanc. It is riper on the palate, with adequate acidity, and certainly the classic persistence. Drink from 2027-2032.

Here’s an extra accent of fresh fruit – almost a fresh peach. There’s plenty of energy here providing the balance with an extra level/dimension of flavour. That’s a super finish. Generous – but not too much, delicious – just enough!!

Pale straw gold. Pretty, charming floral nose. Mineral, saline, juicy. Almonds. Lively finish with smoke, spices and green apple on the finish.
