2023, Domaine Pierre Guillemot, SAVIGNY-LÈS-BEAUNE, 1er Cru, 'Aux Serpentières'

The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Serpentières has turned out beautifully, bursting with aromas of cherries, sweet berries, orange zest, petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's generous and charming.

As always the wine from Serpentières is a little paler. A bit more floral on the nose, quite elegant, showing the whole bunches a touch more. Some alpine strawberry, plush and satisfying throughout, with a notably long finish on the crushed strawberry note. Drink from 2029-2034.

Fine clarity. A wine that melts over the palate, almost creamy in its flavour depth. Then opening up over the palate – panoramic. Framed with a tiny drying grain of tannin – like velvet. A beautiful wine again…

Deep ruby. Smoky cool nose of peonies with touch of red cherries. Elegant and precise. Long intense minerality on the finish. Will need some time in bottle.
