2023, Domaine Pierre Guillemot, SAVIGNY-LÈS-BEAUNE, 1er Cru, 'Aux Narbantons'

$98

A favourite of PMFW and always a lively and charming wine. Usually a touch more forward than Serpentières but with lovely depth of fruit and a succulent texture.

The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons is expressive, bursting with notes of cherries, strawberries, rose petals and spices. Medium-bodied, lively and saline, it will drink well young.
90 William Kelley.

Mid purple in colour, the Narbantons offers less flesh more precision. Again, the mineral thread. This is a little more cerebral, with an austere elegance despite the evident fruit. Drink from 2028-2032.
**** 90-92 Jasper Morris MW.

Also a more airy nose – redder, slightly more diffuse fruit at the core of the wine today. More structural, also mouth-watering flavours – here framed by a tiny grain of tannin – very much velvet texture. The finish is long – that’s got extra class – plus a great finish.
Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report.

Lovely cherries, raspberries, cranberries with flowers: violets, roses. Supple and juicy. Sweet spicy soft long finish. Mineral precision - power, elegance &
balance. I liked this a lot.
