2023, Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, SAVIGNY-LÈS-BEAUNE, 1er Cru, 'Les Narbantons', Magnum (1500ml)

Savigny-les-Beaune is Mongeard's only vineyard holding in the Côte de Beaune. The 1er cru "Narbantons" has an intense colour. The bouquet is elegant and powerful, dominated by red fruits. This wine reaches true excellence when fully mature - so ideal in a MAGNUM.
53 year old vines - fully destemmed. Cold maceration at 10º Celsius. 30-40% new oak.

Mid clear ruby. Cherry, sous-bois, delicately spicy nose. Fine mouth feel with lingering spice. Light & elegant on the palate with lovely floral aspects of violets and rose petals, cherries and a little nutty almond. Still in its infancy but already enjoyable.

Full perfume – high tones – large and spiced. Supple - very silky even a small generosity too. Really fine texture - long in the finish slightly reduced at this stage of elevage but broadening into a softer but very satisfying finish.
