Superb grand cru from a .52 ha parcel of 50+ year old vines
situated just below the Clos des Ruchottes of Rousseau and near the Mazis of Faiveley.
A more sauvage influence suffuses the nose of poached plum, spicy red currant and newly turned earth. The rich, delicious and caressing medium weight flavours flash evident minerality that continues onto the bitter pit fruit-inflected finale that also displays just a touch of dryness. Again, my sense is that this is more due to the recent bottling than underripe tannins. 92 Burghound (2025).
Mid garnet. Rich and layered and really rather majestic with lots of tannin – more than most in this vintage. Needs time but it’s promising. 17++ Jancis Robinson (2025).
