2023, Domaine Bruno Clavelier, VOSNE-ROMANÉE, 1er Cru, 'Les Beaux Monts'

An overtly floral and spice-infused nose reflects notes of various dark berries and exotic tea. Once again there is a highly attractive texture to the medium weight flavours that exude evident minerality on the finer, though not denser, finish where a touch of youthful austerity eventually emerges. I like both the depth and the persistence and overall, this is really quite good. Outstanding. 91-93 Burghound. 

On the Flagey side, east facing, oolites and clay without a huge amount of topsoil. A little more crimson in colour, a little less immediate on the nose, with darker fruit and a touch of salinity on the palate. Complex, brooding wine. A few more tannins, but still a mineral feel. Drink from 2030 - 2038. **** 93-95 Jasper Morris.
