2023, Domaine A. -F. Gros, POMMARD, 1er Cru, 'Les Pezerolles', Monopole

An even ruby purple. This is perhaps surprisingly one of the more perfumed wines, with fuller raspberry notes. A little more body and definitely some firmer tannins, but at a level which works for me. Nicely made, with clarity and retaining a Pommard profile. Notably persistent Drink from 2032-2037.

Pretty, even elegant, aromas are comprised by airy and wonderfully fresh notes of spice and floral nuances that add breadth to the ripe red cherry and currant scents. I love the mouthfeel of the gorgeously textured flavours that are not particularly concentrated but they are lilting and lacy while not lacking for punch on the dusty, stony, moderately austere and strikingly long finish. This too is lovely and worth considering.
Outstanding.
