Peter Maude Fine Wines
2022, La Chablisienne, CHABLIS, Grand Cru, 'Château Grenouilles'
The co-operative have purchased their significant holding (7.20ha) of Grenouilles. The vines date from 1945 up to 2007.
Once again the moderately generous wood stops just short of overshadowing the vaguely exotic nose of white peach, dried pear, seaweed, iodine and tidal pool suggestions. The caressing and utterly delicious medium weight plus flavours flash good power and mid-palate density, all wrapped in a balanced, long and nicely precise finale.
92-94 Allen Meadows, Burghound.
Very impressive example of Grenouilles with a great future ahead. Buy a case and keep for at least five years. 2025 - 2034

A faint spice and a suggestion of green citrus to go with the yellow. Really broad over the palate – energy, minerality and an almost textured depth of flavour. Intense finishing again.
Such a baby – the finish shrinks faster than some but then holds just as long. Such potential again!
