Peter Maude Fine Wines

2022, La Chablisienne, CHABLIS, 1er Cru, 'L'Homme Mort'

$88

Here too moderate wood sets off cooler and more citrus-inflected aromas that offers slightly more Chablis typicity.
The mouthfeel of the middleweight flavours offer better energy on the firmer bitter lemon-suffused finish that also flashes a touch of warmth.
89-91 Allen Meadows, Burghound.

The ‘small volume wines’ here all see 100% wood elevage – the rest of the 1ers are more like 20-30%.
There’s a bit of barrel aroma here as part of a good aromatic volume. Hmm, the shape and fresh concentration in the mouth is lovely.
Really broad and persistent too. This will be another super wine but wait 2-3 years.
