Peter Maude Fine Wines

2022, Domaine Pierre-Morey, MEURSAULT, Village

$160

Always a stalwart, the 2022 Meursault delivers aromas of pear, sweet citrus oil, freshly baked bread and crushed mint, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and chalky palate with good cut and plenty of chalky structuring extract. As usual, it's a blend of lieux-dits Les Forges, Les Pellans and Les Chaumes de Narvaux. 90-92 William Kelley, Wine Advocate (2024).

Cool, airy and notably more complex aromas are comprised by notes of acacia blossom, hazelnut and an array of citrus elements. The succulent but quite punchy medium weight flavours exude evident minerality on the very dry and moderately austere finish. This is quite tightly wound and a wine that should repay up to a decade of cellaring and one that will need at least 4 to 5 years first. 89-91 Burghound (2024).
