Peter Maude Fine Wines
2022, Domaine Pierre-Morey, BOURGOGNE, Côte d'Or 'Chardonnay'
The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge Côte d'Or comes from parcels just north of Meursault. It has a fresh, clean, vibrant bouquet with vivacious red cherry and strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied and crisp with crunchy red fruit. What you might call a "gourmand" Bourgogne Côte d'Or. 87-89 Neal Martin, Vinous (2023).
The 2022 Bourgogne Blanc is ample and fleshy, bursting with aromas of pear, white flowers, almond paste and vanilla pod, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate framed by chalky dry extract. 88+ William Kelley, Wine Advocate (2024).
TOP VALUE From vines located within the village limits of Meursault, in 2022 producing a wine with delicious apple aromas and notes of acacia flowers with a bit of smoky reduction. The texture is dense and rich but not heavy. The grapes are fermented in cask but no new oak, and the wine matured for 18-24 months with occasional lees stirring. Complex and texturally satisfying. Organic. 92 Charles Curtis MW, Decanter (2023).
Drinking Window: 2024 - 2028
