Peter Maude Fine Wines

2021, Domaine Darviot-Perrin, MEURSAULT, 1er Cru, 'Genevrières'

$284

One new barrel out of four. Mid lemon yellow. The bouquet is a bit backward
here. Lemon and lime notes, some ripe apple, not quite the éclat of Charmes,
but I think perhaps more reserved, especially as the finish suggests that the
intensity is still developing. Tasted: October 2022. 92-94 Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.

The 2021 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru has a tight nose like the Clos de la Velle, a bit unresponsive even with aeration. The palate is fresh and saline on the entry with Granny Smith, citrus peel and a fresh steely finish. Sure, there isn't length in situ, but it has energy. 89 Neal Martin, Vinous.
