The history of Château Taillefer is linked to Antoine Moueix, a wine merchant who in 1923 recognised the potential of this property and decided to acquire it. An historic Pomerol property that dates back to 1776 - and which today is run by Claire and Antoine Moueix, children of Bernard Moueix.

Unfussy, carefully extracted plum and raspberry fruit, this is an enjoyable drinking wine that is working with the vintage. 88 Jane Anson.

A nose full of dark chocolate coated fruits - so appealing. I love the bright nature of the red fruits on the palate and the milk chocolate cocoa powder that dusts the sides of the mouth, this has a fine grip and commands attention. It's delicate and refined but has such a stylish aspect, so curated and sculpted, not muscular - it's gentle but direct and focused with clarity. The wood aspects appear just on the finish giving nuance but this is charming no doubt. 90 Georgina Hindle, Decanter.

The 2021 Taillefer has a fragrant, floral bouquet of brambly red fruit infused with iris petal; touches of tobacco emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit and fine acidity. Give it 3–4 years in bottle. 87-89 Neal Martin
