2020, La Chablisienne, CHABLIS, Grand Cru, 'Château Grenouilles'

Whereas the other wines are made from fruit belonging to La Chablisienne's adherents, the co-operative actually purchased their significant holding (7.20ha) of Grenouilles. The vines date from 1945 up to 2007.

The 2020 Chablis Château Grenoueilles Grand Cru is another impressive wine from the cooperative. The aromatics are nicely chiselled with a malic bent, Granny Smith apples and light sea spray scents coming through. The palate has the weight and concentration you expect from a Grand Cru coupled with a fine bead of acidity. Perhaps it loses some of its complexity just towards the finish, but otherwise this will do nicely. 91 Neal Martin, Vinous.
