Originally, Casamatta was a high production wine, but in recent years it has been massively dialled down to just 30,000 bottles in order to focus on quality. Slightly creamy and silky, the 2023 features some orange peel and coffee notes alongside crunchy cherry and fresh herbs. Emergy, sapidity and succulence are in abundance here. Delicious! 2025-2028

The Bibi Graetz 2023 Casamatta is all Sangiovese, with sweetness and ripeness that reminds me of strawberry cobbler. You also get blue flower and scorched earth. The wine remains primary and fresh and offers a soft texture enhanced by more raspberry and cherry to close.
