2023, Château Fuissé, POUILLY-FUISSÉ, 'Tête de Cuvée'

$76

The 2023 Pouilly-Fuissé Tête de Cuvée has been bottled for five months. It has a light nose that just needs to develop more presence and mineralité. I actually think the 2024 could be the better vintage. The palate is well balanced with an edgy, orange rind-tinged entry and just a twist of sour lemon, nicely controlled with a persistent finish. More light and elegant in style, this is a Pouilly-Fuissé that you can drink in its youth. 88-90 Neal Martin, Vinous (2025)

30-year-old vines on average with some 1er cru such as Vers Cras, Vignes Blanches, Perrières, Pouilly. 60% made in barrel, of which 25% new. The tank proportion is less clay-limestone in origin. Bottled in November 2024. A faint touch of lime in the colour. The bouquet does not want to speak yet, though certainly offering an indication of weight of fruit. Predominantly white fruit with a fresh, clear-cut finish, with fresh plum through the middle. Some tension, plenty of citrus in the finish. 13.5% alcohol. **** 91 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (2025)
