2022, Domaine de la Vougeraie, CHARLEMAGNE, Grand Cru

The 2022 Charlemagne Grand Cru now comes from two parcels in Pernand and Aloxe-Corton. It has quite a perfumed nose with white peach and light dried honey scents, though it needs a little more mineralité and tension, a little smudged compared to the previous vintage. The well-balanced palate is rich and generous, with a honeyed texture, though its acidity balances it. Plenty of tropical fruit joins the party on the finish. Fine. 91-93 Neal Martin, Vinous.
