Peter Maude Fine Wines
2022, La Chablisienne, CHABLIS, 1er Cru, 'Vaulorent'
A beautifully layered though vaguely exotic nose combines notes of dried peach, citrus confit and lychee with more classic elements that include those of tidal pool,
algae and oyster shell. There is both excellent volume and mid-palate density to the solidly powerful yet refined flavours that deliver fine length on the clean,
dry, focused and balanced finale. The innate class of a fine Vaulorent is plain to 'see' and this is worth considering.
91-93 Allen Meadows, Burghound.
Also a hint of barrel but here is a wonderful depth of more mineral aroma – it’s lovely. Incisive, complex, mobile flavour
– clarity, minerality – all that I’m looking for. Bravo – complete (Chablis!) wine!
