Peter Maude Fine Wines
2022, Domaine Solange Tribut, CHABLIS, Village
Solange's own cuvée - fresh and textured in classic Chablis style.
A niece of Vincent Dauvissat, Solange also makes all the wine for her father's domaine Tribut-Dauvissat - and does a damn good job of it, with Bill Nanson writing on the 2022s:
"Alway a compact and beautifully formed range from the family here – some great wines to search out too."
Absolutely delicious with great versatility - enough richness to find favour during winter (& freshness for enjoyable drinking in warmer weather too.)
Tasting notes:
Firm reduction pushes the underlying fruit to the background at present. By contrast, there is both good freshness and verve to the very rich, delicious and appealingly textured middleweight flavours that possess fine intensity on the nicely dry, youthfully austere and bitter citrus-tinged finale. This is a very good villages that should repay 4 to 7 years of keeping yet is sufficiently rich to be enjoyed young as well. Sweet Spot Outstanding. 89-91 Allen Meadows, Burghound.
