2023, Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron, NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES, 'Les Fleurières'

From a parcel that sits right below the Nuits 1er Les Pruliers.

Purple with a dark centre, but these colours are lively, not super-saturated. Dark berries on the nose, blackberry even, then a full soft dark fruit on the palate, lowish acidity but stable with useful tannins to provide the structure. Fair length. Drink from 2028-2033.

The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Fleurières is aged in barrels with a lighter toasting. It has a light floral bouquet with peony and black cherry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with black plummy fruit laced with light citrus notes, fine salinity and a light pepperiness on the finish. Enjoy it over the next six to eight years.

Dark ruby. Quiet nose with a little violet note. Meaty, rich, earthy, good density.
Elegant. Nice textural mouth-feel.
