2023, Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron, NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES, 1er Cru, 'Les Chaboeufs'
Recently bottled. Quite a solid deep purple. The bouquet is more backward, suggesting a darker Nuits-St-Georges fruit. Liquorice, black cherry and the traditional plums, with a decent tannic structure supporting the fruit. Fair length, lower acidity. Drink from 2029-2034.

The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Chaboeufs 1er Cru, which had already been bottled, has a noticeable marine influence on the nose, infusing the black plummy fruit. This coheres nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a little granular with traces of graphite toward the finish. A well-crafted NSG from one of the lesser known climats.

Deep clear ruby. More reductive nose although some strawberries. Structured, savoury, mineral, rich. Quite muscular. Will be good with a meal.
