2024, Maison Benjamin Leroux, BÂTARD-MONTRACHET, Grand Cru
$917.70 inc. GST
Leroux now owns a piece of this vineyard on the Chassagne side.
Pale lemon and lime. This is a discreet Bâtard up front, then an oaky one in the middle, finally sublime one with a great deal of energy behind, and some fresh lime notes mixed in with golden fruit. Heading in a very good direction, by the time the elevage is finished. Stays in the mouth for quite some time. Drink from 2030-2038.

The 2024 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a very intense bouquet, crushed stone infusing the malic aromas, just a hint of popcorn in the background. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, elegant in style, perhaps not quite as complex as the Corton Grandes Lolières but there is fine persistency.
91-93 Neal Martin.
