This leading Barsac property is one of the oldest in the region and has been producing wine since 1643. It is owned by the Baly family with technical and commercial input from Baron Philippe de Rothschild (Mouton).

This is round and concentrated, with incisive acidity providing balance. Full-bodied and attractive in its power, with just enough freshness to hold it together.
94-95 James Suckling.

The 2025 Coutet is redolent of crème brûlée, spice, passion fruit and candied ginger. Always quite rich texturally, Coutet blossoms beautifully on the palate with plenty of textural presence and body. It's a gorgeous wine by any measure. Tasted twice. 2030-2045.
94-96 Antonio Galloni, vinous.

One of my go to Barsacs, in this vintage showing intensely sweet pineapple, bitter almond, fennel, blood orange, tarte tartin. There is grip here, but it is one for lovers of opulence. Tasted twice, 25% new oak.
93 Jane Anson.
