Peter Maude Fine Wines
2023, Domaine d'Eugénie, VOSNE-ROMANÉE, Village
$167.90 inc. GST
The village Vosne is the only 2023 so far racked to tank, 3 new barrels in 10. 15% whole bunch vinification. No more than medium deep in colour, with a prettily floral nose. A good density of cherry fruit with a raspberry aftertaste, adequate acidity. Fair length, not a lot of tension. Drink from 2028 - 2033. Tasted Nov 2024. *** 89-91 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy.
The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village comes from the same parcels as usual with no SO2 addition. It had been racked the previous week. The 2023 has a light nose that needs a little more delineation (...). The palate is well balanced with crunchy red fruit, a crisp line of acidity and an open-knit finish. It just needs more body and complexity. 86-88 Neal Martin, Vinous.
A fresh, spicy and airy nose is comprised mostly of red berry fruit aromas. The succulent, refined and delicious middle weight flavours possess good punch while displaying hint of minerality and bitter pit fruit on the lingering finale. 88-90 Burghound.
