Domaine Dureuil-Janthial

Rully

The domaine comprises of 17 hectares of vineyards that are located mostly in the Cote Chalonnaise but also in both the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits - there are 20 crus in total. The Dureuil-Janthial family is one of the oldest in Rully, tracing back to the 13th Century.

Today the domaine is run by Vincent who made his first vintage in 1994. Since that time Vincent has established himself as one of the top winemakers in the village and he is equally at home making reds or whites. Although Vincent took over a substantial area of family vineyards, he has been able to double the domaine's holdings. In 2001 they halted the use of herbicides and today the domaine is fully certified organic.

There are five premier cru whites included in the line-up and these wines are noted for their beautiful texture and minerality. The reds have lovely fruit concentration and balance - four are premier cru - but all the wines are unquestionably well made as well as offering excellent value. They are made from vines up to 70-years-old, and annual production is around 100,000 bottles.
