2021, Domaine Bruno Clair, MOREY-SAINT-DENIS, 1er Cru, 'En la rue de Vergy'

$168

The 2021 Morey Saint-Denis En la Rue Vergy, which has slightly less whole bunches (20%), has a light red cherry and crushed strawberry scented bouquet. The palate is well balanced, quite pretty with fine mineralité towards the finish, delicate but not fragile. Will be irresistible for the next 6-9 years. 90-92 Neal Martin, Vinous.

Bruno Clair's white from high on the Morey slope is a wine of lemony precision and finesse. It displays a silky texture, light body, and an elegant, lingering finish. The result is charming, but it was not easy to deliver. The team had to sort rigorously in the vines and then to settle the must for two days to achieve this level of purity. In the end, however, the efforts have produced a delightful wine that excels the red from the same site. 93 Charles Curtis MW, Decanter.

Notes of sweet red berries and plums mingled with notions of cinnamon and rose petals introduce the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis En la Rue de Vergy, a medium-bodied, pure and ethereal wine with lively acids, melting tannins and a mineral finish. It's derived from a stony site, high on the slope above Bonnes-Mares. 89-91 William Kelley, Wine Advocate.
